New Delhi. The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has arrested Meenakshi Aggarwal, a woman who cheated people by luring them to get railway tenders and other contracts. The accused woman, along with her husband, has defrauded many people of crores of rupees. The court had declared both of them fugitives in two cases. Delhi Police had kept a reward of Rs 25,000 for the arrest of the woman.
According to Satish Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Crime Branch, the victim Vijay Raj, a resident of Dabri, Delhi, has filed a complaint against the accused, Abhishek Aggarwal, originally resident of Jaipur Rajasthan and living in Uttam Nagar, Delhi, and his wife Meenakshi Aggarwal (36) in connection with cheating and criminal breach of trust. Complaint was lodged. The court had declared him a fugitive on 31 January 24. The accused used to lure people with offers of getting railway tenders and other government contracts. After taking advance, they would switch off their mobile phones and disappear.
This is how the money was cheated
Victim Vijay has alleged that he had invested more than Rs 50 lakh with the accused in their firms on the assurances of accused Abhishek Aggarwal and his wife Meenakshi Aggarwal. The accused had assured them of huge profits. In this case, the accused were arrested and later got bail from the court. After getting bail, both of them absconded. The court had declared both of them fugitives. Similarly, Rahul Gupta, resident of Uttam Nagar, Delhi, was lured to invest Rs 3.18 crore in the period 2015 to 2018 to get a railway contract and tender. A case in this regard was registered at Dwarka (North) police station on October 2, 20. In this case both of them got bail from the court. In this case also, the court had declared him a fugitive. Police have arrested the accused Meenakshi Agarwal, wife of Abhishek Agarwal from Jaipur, Rajasthan.
